What do serious winemakers do when they want to unwind? Make new
blends that help them scratch that creative itch. Our newest
creation is pronounced “Barn Door” but is spelled “Barn D’Or” (Barn
of Gold).
It is a blend of a Mountain Top Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard
that Guy farms and Syrah from the estate vineyard at our home. This
blend shows the nice structure and aromas of Cabernet up front, and
then the more you drink it, the plump, exotic, fruit-packed Syrah
flavors come welling up from underneath. We have been fond of
this combination for years and have decided to make it a permanent
affair! The richness and complexity of this wine are not to be
missed - In the first few weeks of it's career it has already
garnered gold medal acclaim! Only a few hundred cases produced,
and they won't last long at this $30 price -- It’s always more fun
when the Barn D’Or is open! |
